Rams release OL Bryan Mattison

Posted on August 31, 2012 in Uncategorized

While battling for a spot on the Offensive Line for the St. Louis Rams, it seemed Bryan Mattison might have a chance to find a role as a backup. However, it appears he fell victim to the numbers game.

Today the Rams were obligated to cut their rosters to 53 players to start the 2012 season and Mattison appears to be on the wrong side of that. After beginning last season on the Ravens’ Practice Squad, Mattison eventually found his way to the Rams and even found some playing time late in the season.

A Defensive Lineman while in college at the University of Iowa, Mattison made the switch while with the Ravens in order to find any way possible to get on the field. The switch appears to have been the right move, now it’s time to improve and try to find a team that can use him.

Seems to me that the Rams cut the wrong OL. Mattison will make a great player for some team.Surprised they didn’t use him at center too. Solid in the locker room as well as the field.
