Jordan Bernstine’s season ends after tearing knee ligaments

Just a few minutes into the 4th quarter of his first NFL game, the Rookie season for S Jordan Bernstine has ended.
Bernstine, a 7th Round Draft pick for the Washington Redskins out of Iowa, was in on Kickoff coverage and tore his ACL, MCL & PCL. He had to be carted off the field and the trainers reportedly knew that it was a serious injury immediately.
Today, the team announced that he would miss the rest of the 2012 season. Coach Mike Shanahan said, “He was doing a great job. He’s a great kid, a lot of energy and was doing a great job at the safety position and was doing an excellent job at special teams, so it always hurts to lose a guy like that. … But, it is what it is. He’ll do a great job in rehab and be ready to come back next year.”
Hopefully Bernstine can rebound quickly, regain his speed and be able to make an impact and continue his NFL career. Today he tweeted, “Just another obstacle on the road to success. He has a plan for me. Keeping the head high and looking in the right direction.” He added, “Thanks to everyone who’s supporting me & keeping me in their prayers. I appreciate it. Everything will be ok. It’ll only make me stronger.”
Let’s hope so.

Jordan is going to be a STAR in the NFL, I noticed that in his play for Washington in the preseason. It was a complete downer for me to see a player of his caliber go down. I believe with him the Redskins would be 9-3 right now instead of 6-6. Believe me the kid is the truth and he will prove it to everyone when he returns. I cant wait to see his return, Jordan hang in there and continue to work yourself back into shape. You are a special talent and let nothing stop you.

i hope so. he battled injuries throughout college at Iowa and obviously suffered one during his first preseason. let’s hope it’s not a trend and he can finally play healthy next season.
